Fifth Grade Breakfast Bonds! This morning, our fifth graders kicked off the school year with a heartwarming Breakfast Bonds event! Students and their families enjoyed muffins together while sharing special memories and stories. The breakfast not only celebrated the strong connections between home and school, but also gave families a chance to slow down and make meaningful memories with their children. It was a joyful way to start the day, and we are so thankful to all of the parents and caregivers who joined us.

IMS students taking Spanish are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (15 de septiembre - 15 de octubre) by learning about the diverse cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic Americans. We wanted to provide clarification regarding our lunch payment system. Over the past week, we have received several questions from families about delays in seeing deposits appear in PaySchools after adding funds to their child’s lunch account.

Please note that there is a short delay because our cafeteria’s point-of-sale (POS) system operates separately from PaySchools. While the funds are available in your child’s account right away, the balance may take additional time to update in PaySchools.

We appreciate your understanding and hope this information helps make managing your child’s lunch account easier.

Our middle school gym has two brand-new scoreboards! Thanks to the Independence Athletic Boosters and Wrestling Booster Club, the upgraded gym enhances visibility and improves the game-day experience for athletes, coaches, and fans.

IHS has new mission & vision banners and room ID signs! Banners reinforce our commitment to Creating a Legacy of Excellence, while new exterior signs improve safety, navigation, and emergency response.

All K-5 teachers completed Bridges Math training this August! Through hands-on problem-solving, they strengthened instructional skills, built confidence, and laid the foundation for engaging, high-quality math learning experiences for every student.

The Independence Athletic Department is excited to offer our season passes and single game tickets through Hometown Ticketing for the 2025-2026 school year.
