Our 7th & 8th graders are having a blast at their dance tonight!

We have good news to share! 🎉
Today, 8th grade students Lucy Lu, Jules Cherny, Hailey Kestranek, and Emilia Mikolic competed in the Ohio History Day Region 3 contest held at the Cleveland History Center.
Emilia had an Individual Performance, while Lucy, Jules, and Hailey had Individual Exhibits. All projects revolved around this year’s National History Day theme of “Rights & Responsibilities in History.” Students spent the past 3 months working on these research projects as a collaborative assignment in Mrs. Vecchio’s ELA class and Mrs. Satola’s U.S. History class.
Congratulations to Hailey for receiving Honorable Mention for her exhibit titled “The Secret Story of Books.” She will advance to the state level contest held at Capital University in Columbus on April 26th. Great job ladies! 👏💙💛

A group of IMS Student Council members attended a Leadership Conference at North Royalton Middle School where they were inspired by keynote speaker Dee Hankins. The conference focused on the importance of resiliency and how it helps us overcome challenges and stay motivated in the face of adversity. Through engaging activities and insightful discussions, our students gained valuable tools and strategies to build their own resilience. They are now eager to share the lessons they learned with their peers, empowering everyone to embrace resilience and continue growing as leaders!

Independence Schools will be closed tomorrow, Tues., February 18, because of the extreme windchill expected. All afternoon activities are canceled, but as far as athletic events, the coaches will be contacting athletes. The Board of Ed meeting in the evening will still be held.
