The IMS Gamer Squad has been in full swing with a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament! We had 17 students participating in 4 rounds of matches. Each student picked a character to play, and each match was a best two out of three battle. Students got to pick their own maps to battle on, and each battle was a 3 stock battle.
Our top two players were Maverick Durden and Andriy Tsirkot, with Maverick being our 1st place champion! Both players also got a chance to play against the Chief of Police for the city of Independence. In the end, Maverick still came out on top!
Indy Family First Night is Wednesday, March 8! After 5 p.m., no homework assigned, no studying for tests, no athletic practices, no club meetings...students and staff are encouraged to only focus on connecting with their families!
5th Grade All-Pro Parent Breakfast!
All 5th-grade parents and students are invited this Friday, February, 24 to an All-Pro Parent breakfast in the IMS cafeteria from 7:15 - 7:40 a.m. All-Pro breakfast comes with a message for both parent and child to take away. This is a FREE event for all.

Builders Club celebrates National Kindness Week!
Builders Club spent time this week writing every student and staff member on a heart to create our Kindness Matters mural on the cafeteria windows. This goes along with a poem about a paper heart and being kind to others. They also delivered treats to all students on Valentines Day to celebrate.
Youth Sports Clinic: Grades 3-6
On Saturday, 2/25 there will be a Youth Sports Clinic at the Field House from 5pm-8pm. This event is open to grades 3-6, and will benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society fundraiser taking place at IHS. Enjoy a night out, and support a great cause!
A pizza dinner, snacks and drinks will be provided for the kids. There will be football, basketball, baseball, softball, golf, volleyball, and soccer, all instructed by current IHS team members. Additional activities such as nine square, coloring and crafts will be available.

IMS Cheerleading Tryouts!
Are you interested in school spirit? Being a leader? Having fun? Cheering on your IMS Football and Basketball teams? Then IMS Cheerleading might be just the thing for you! Any 6th or 7th grader that is interested in cheering for IMS next year should meet in Mrs. Vecchio’s room on Thursday, February 23rd during 4th period! 6th graders please bring your lunch. Mrs. Vecchio will answer any and all questions. Hope to see you at the meeting!
