On this Memorial Day, we encourage our school community to take a moment of silence to honor those who gave everything for our country. Whether you’re attending a local ceremony, placing flags at a memorial, or simply reflecting, let’s come together in gratitude. 🇺🇸❤️

Good luck to our IHS JustWrite teams as they compete in the state tournament at Ashland University today!

Advanced Placement Testing went well at IHS! There were 148 exams being administered. Of the 40 AP offerings that are available to students, our students have an opportunity to test or submit portfolios (Art) in 15 of them. For a school our size, this is a tremendous amount of variety and opportunity for our students. Having 148 tests administered speaks to our students' willingness to challenge themselves academically and prepare for their next steps in their future. Together, we are “Designing Valuable Experiences and Work!” #CultivatingALegacyOfExcellence

The first week of May, IHS had a Kiwanis and club advisor meeting. This meeting connected our local Kiwanis Club with our IHS Key Club and other service-based clubs. Having this connection will provide our school community to help the greater Independence community. While our clubs offer a lot to many organizations, being able to first focus on the City of Independence will be impactful for our community. Additionally, having our service clubs on the same page will allow for us to be targeted and strategic in our volunteering and fundraising, as our kids are spread thin to begin with. Together, we are “Creating a Welcoming and Inclusive Community Environment!” #CultivatingALegacyOfExcellence
