The National Honor Society at Independence High School (IHS) held its annual induction ceremony on November 24. Principal Mike Janatovich delivered the welcome remarks, and Sergeant at Arms Emily Gibbons led the Pledge of Allegiance. President Tatiana Randjelovic opened the program with an overview of NHS membership. Secretary Brooke Coldsnow then introduced the candle-lighting ceremony, noting that each candle represents one of the four NHS pillars. The student officers followed by briefly presenting each pillar: Treasurer Steven Polasko spoke on character, Vice President Lauren Dalrymple on scholarship, Historian Lindsey Lieu on leadership, and Vice President of Service Sam Bernhardt on service.
