Independence Primary School Celebrates Music In Our Schools Month with 4th Annual Music Spirit Week

Students and staff at Independence Primary School recently filled the halls with energy, creativity, and school spirit during the 4th Annual Music Spirit Week, held March 23 through March 27 in celebration of Music In Our Schools Month.

Throughout the week, students had the opportunity to express their love of music through fun, themed dress-up days that highlighted different musical styles and genres. The celebration kicked off with Mix-Tape Monday, where students showed off their creativity by mismatching their outfits just like a shuffled playlist. On Tuesday, the school went country for Country Western Day, with many students sporting denim, boots, and cowboy hats.

Midweek, students embraced the magic of music from beloved films during Wonderful World of Disney Music Day, proudly wearing their favorite Disney attire. Thursday brought out the rockstars for I Love Rock 'n' Roll Day, as students channeled their inner musicians with bold and energetic looks. The week concluded with Broadway Bound Day, when students dressed in bright, theatrical clothing or wore shirts representing their favorite musicals.

“Music Spirit Week provided a fun and engaging way to celebrate the important role music plays in education,” said Principal Jodie Hughes. “Activities like these help foster creativity, build confidence, and create a sense of community among students and staff.”

Independence Primary School is proud to recognize Music In Our Schools Month each year and remains committed to supporting arts education as an essential part of a well-rounded learning experience.
