Independence Primary School (IPS) celebrated a picture-perfect Grandparents Day, welcoming hundreds of grandparents and special guests to share in a morning of love, laughter, and lasting memories. Families enjoyed time together at lunch, recess, and the book fair as students proudly showed their guests where they learn and play each day.

The event was made possible through the partnership of the IPS PTO, building staff, and district administration, whose teamwork helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

“We were beyond blessed with the perfect weather and even better company,” said Principal Jodie Hughes. “Seeing our students and grandparents connect in such a meaningful way truly made the day special.”

Grandparents Day has become a beloved tradition at IPS—one that continues to strengthen the school community, celebrate the importance of family in education, and cultivates a legacy of excellence.
