Independence Local Schools is one of the award recipients of Ohio Governor Mike Dewine’s K-12 School Safety Grant Program. More than 2,000 schools applied for this competitive grant. The district was included among the list of 708 buildings that received grant awards.
Independence Local Schools will receive $283,455 to significantly improve the video surveillance capabilities at each school. The project planning and bidding processes have already begun. The district is hopeful to start implementation prior to the end of the 2022-23 school year.
