5th grade

IMS fifth graders in Mrs. Renton's class have been studying waves and how sound works. Recently, they completed a culminating project that involved creating a homemade instrument using recycled materials. The instrument needed to be able to be attractive to the eye, decorated, and needed to produce at least 3 pitches. Students then worked in "bands" to write lyrics pertaining to what they learned in the unit, and then performed their songs to their classmates. We had a ton of fun and worked hard. Some of Mrs. Renton's cilia may have been permanently damaged in this endeavor, but it was for a great cause!
