IMS Blue Room Offers Crafting and Gaming Area for Students

Independence Middle School’s Blue Room now has a well stocked crafting corner, thanks to a donation from JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores.  Students are enjoying making bracelets, painting and being creative during indoor recess on the crafting side of the room.  On the game side, there are video games, ping pong table, foosball and board games. Students can visit the blue room during recess time.

In addition, a new Gaming Club has been created at the middle school.  Gaming Club Coordinator Michaela Bloam says the students play all sorts of games, from console, PC, and mobile to cards and tabletop, and are enjoying playing games together, competing in tournaments, and sharing gaming interests. The club meets a few times a month during fourth period and will have some after school activities as well.  They have been playing Jackbox on the switch so they can all participate.  Currently, there are 39 students in the club.
