Independence Local Schools is inviting students, families, staff, and community members to gather for a special Movie Night Under the Stars on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Independence High School football field.
The free community event will feature Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” on a large outdoor digital screen with professional sound. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and the movie will begin at 7 p.m. (or at sunset).
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the movie from the football field. Seating will also be available in the stadium bleachers.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening. While there is no cost to attend, donations will be accepted to help offset the cost of bringing the outdoor movie experience to the community. Families will also be able to enjoy Kona Ice and Tom’s Travelin coffee truck.
“Movie Night Under the Stars is an opportunity to bring our school community together in a fun and relaxed setting,” said Superintendent Kelli Cogan. “We hope our students, families, staff, and community members will join us for an evening where we can simply spend time together and enjoy being part of the Independence community.”
The event is open to the entire Independence community.
