As we continue preparing for another exciting school year, I wanted to send a friendly reminder regarding student fees and the upcoming schedule/classroom placement release.

For students in grades K–8, all current and past-due fees must be paid prior to August 13th to access classroom placements and schedules when they are released on August 13.

Families with unpaid fees will receive their classroom placement or schedule on Friday, August 21, but we encourage everyone to take advantage of the additional week to prepare for the start of school by resolving any outstanding balances before August 13.

Please remember:

  • High school students are not affected

by this process. High school fees will be posted by September 15.

  • Fees can be paid online through https://payschoolscentral.com

or by check at your child's school office during business hours.

  • All required fees are

posted in a student's PaySchools account and must be paid, including the new $30 Technology Device Fee for students in grades 5 through 12.

  • Starting with the beginning of the school year, students with unpaid fees will not be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities and field trips until their account balance is zero.

We also want to emphasize that we understand families may experience financial hardships. If paying your fees presents a challenge, please don't hesitate to contact your child's principal. Our goal is always to work with families to find a solution. We never want financial circumstances to become a barrier, and we are committed to helping whenever possible.

We appreciate everyone's partnership as we continue working to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. Collecting outstanding fees helps ensure we can continue offering the programs, services, technology, transportation, and experiences that make Independence Local Schools such a special place for our children.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming our Blue Devils back very soon!
