Independence Middle School recognized its eighth-grade students during a promotion ceremony held on the morning of June 2, marking an important milestone as students prepare to begin their high school careers.
Family members, teachers, staff, and administrators gathered to celebrate the Class of 2030 and recognize students for their hard work and accomplishments throughout their middle school years.
The ceremony featured a performance by the eighth-grade choir, which sang "Stand by Me," including special solos by Elaina Kotabish and Paige Noggle. Students were also honored with a variety of awards recognizing their achievements and contributions during their time at IMS.
Attendees heard remarks from Principal Haley Mueller, who congratulated students on their accomplishments and encouraged them as they take the next step in their educational journey. Student speakers Rachel Mehosky and Elle Pietrzak also addressed their classmates, reflecting on their middle school experiences and looking ahead to the future.
As the ceremony concluded, students celebrated their promotion to Independence High School, where they will continue their academic and extracurricular pursuits this fall.
Congratulations to the IMS Class of 2030, and best wishes for continued success in the years ahead.
