On May 18, the Independence Board of Education proudly celebrated the academic accomplishments of its highest achieving students during the 39th Annual Academic Excellence Dinner held at the Independence Civic Center. The special evening recognized 24 seniors from the Independence High School Class of 2026 who earned a 4.0 GPA or higher, distinguishing themselves as the top-ranking students in their graduating class.
The event honored students for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence throughout their high school careers. Family members, staff, and Board of Education representatives gathered to recognize the students’ hard work and celebrate this outstanding achievement.
Students recognized at this year’s Academic Excellence Dinner included Matilda Averre, Samuel Bernhardt, Lauren Dalrymple, Landon Eichler, Emily Gibbons, Anna Jirmasek, Matthew Jirmasek, Addison Kolar, Gabrielle LaRiccia, MaryAnne LeRoy, Matthew Liepert, Lindsey Lieu, Nathan Lu, Tate McGovern, Madelyn Mudra, James Panichi, Steven Polasko, Tatiana Randjelovic, Liam Rienerth, Armando Romano, Anderson Sears, Giada Spisak, Grady Wachs, and Victor Walchanowicz.
