From the stage at Independence High School to the national stage in the public relations industry, Emily George continues to build a career rooted in leadership, communication, and innovation.
A proud member of the Independence High School Class of 2020, Emily was actively involved during her time as a Blue Devil. She participated in the Independence Drama Club and served as a varsity cheerleader, experiences that helped shape her confidence, communication, and performance skills. She was preparing to perform in the school’s 2020 production of Legally Blonde before the COVID-19 pandemic led to school closures and the cancellation of many senior-year activities and events.
Like many students in the Class of 2020, Emily’s graduating class also did not experience a traditional commencement ceremony.
Emily credits many of her public speaking and leadership abilities to opportunities she received while attending Independence High School, including the Dale Carnegie Course offered through the district.
“Much of my success in speaking at the event for PR Newswire came from my background at Independence and how much my teachers shaped my education,” Emily said. “Truly, all of my success in college and after started from my career in Independence.”
Emily went on to attend Bowling Green State University, earning her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing in 2024. While at BGSU, she continued developing the communication and leadership skills that would launch her professional career.
Today, Emily serves as an Associate Account Executive with Cision in Cleveland, where she works with PR Newswire clients to help amplify their stories through innovative communications strategies and AI-powered solutions.
Recently, Emily was selected as a featured seller speaker at PR Newswire’s “Mastery Lab 2026,” a national gathering of sales, marketing, editorial, product, and executive teams. During the event, she shared insights on how clients are leveraging AI-powered public relations innovation and Multichannel Amplification™ to drive measurable results.
In addition to her role at Cision, Emily’s background reflects a strong foundation in customer service, marketing, and communications leadership through experiences in hospitality, event coordination, and social media management.
From Independence High School to the evolving world of public relations and communications, Emily George represents what it means to be Rooted in Excellence while continuing to cultivate a legacy of success.
