Seventh graders at Independence Middle School recently stepped into the shoes of adulthood through the engaging “Real Money, Real World” program presented by the Ohio State University Extension. During the hands-on financial simulation, students were assigned careers, salaries, and family situations as they navigated real-life budgeting decisions involving housing, transportation, food, childcare, and entertainment. The experience gave students valuable insight into financial responsibility, decision-making, and future planning while helping them make meaningful real-world connections to skills they will use for years to come. Special thanks to the 15 parents who volunteered and assisted with the simulations.
