On Thursday, May 21, Independence Middle School’s eighth-grade WIMS broadcasting class had the exciting opportunity to welcome legendary Cleveland radio broadcaster Ed “Flash” Ferenc to campus.
Students learned about Ed's incredible career in radio broadcasting, including WMMS’ important role in helping bring the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to Cleveland. After speaking with students, Ed took time to learn about each student’s role in the WIMS newsroom and stayed to watch the live production of the WIMS morning announcements.
To top it all off, Ed even joined the broadcast, recording the iconic message: “Have a super day at IMS today!”
Thank you, Ed “Flash” Ferenc, for inspiring our students and sharing your passion and expertise with the next generation of broadcasters!
