Independence High School students are inviting senior residents of the community to a special afternoon of technology help and connection.
On Thursday, April 16, from 1–5 p.m., seniors are welcome to stop by the Independence Civic Center for Tech Help for Seniors, where student volunteers will provide hands-on assistance with everyday technology questions.
Participants can bring their cell phones, tablets, Kindles, or laptops and receive personalized help from tech-savvy high school students. Seniors may drop in at any time during the event, though sign-ups are encouraged to help organizers plan ahead.
Students will be available to assist with tasks such as:
Clearing or recording voicemail messages
Organizing and categorizing photos
Searching for keywords in text messages
Bookmarking important websites
Adjusting font sizes and accessibility settings
