Independence High School will name Justin Aranavage as the new head coach of the girls’ tennis program, pending board approval.
Aranavage brings a strong background in tennis and a passion for athletics and student development. He has been involved in the sport since childhood and was a four year varsity tennis player at Kirtland High School. He continued his playing career at Ohio University as a member of the club tennis team.
In addition to his playing experience, Aranavage has worked with young athletes through youth coaching and volunteered as an assistant coach for the Kirtland High School tennis team while attending college.
This school year marks Aranavage's first year teaching English language arts at Independence High School. He is excited to combine his love of sports and education as he leads the Blue Devils girls’ tennis team.
"Coach Aranavage is bringing a lot of energy and skill into growing the program,” said Athletic Director Danny Zillich. “We are excited to see how girls’ tennis will continue to grow in Independence under his leadership."
Aranavage said he looks forward to helping student athletes grow both on and off the court while continuing to build a strong tennis program at Independence.
