Independence High School is pleased to announce, pending board approval, the appointment of Hallie Teribery as the new Head Coach of the Girls Volleyball program.

A proud Independence alumna and former varsity volleyball standout, Coach Teribery brings both a deep understanding of Blue Devil tradition and a strong background in player development to the role. She competed at the varsity level at Independence from 2012–2015 before continuing her collegiate volleyball career at Tusculum College and later at Lake Erie College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2020.

Teribery currently serves as a Volleyball Coach for Cleveland Volleyball Company, working with athletes across multiple age groups, including 12s, 13s, 15s, and 17s. In that role, she has focused on creating a safe and competitive environment that supports athletes’ physical, social, and emotional growth . Since August 2024, she has also led the Independence Middle School volleyball program, where she emphasized skill development, teamwork, and accountability while adapting practices to meet a wide range of ability levels.

Her experience across youth, middle school, and club volleyball uniquely positions her to strengthen the program pipeline and foster continuity from the middle school to the high school level.

As Head Coach, Teribery plans to build a culture rooted in discipline, competitiveness, and pride in wearing the Independence uniform. She is passionate about helping student-athletes grow not only as volleyball players but as leaders, teammates, and representatives of their school community.

Independence Athletic Director Danny Zillich said, "Coach Teribery is a welcomed addition to the high school volleyball program. Her leadership and ability to connect with our female athletes will prove to be excellent attributes when leading our volleyball program."

The Independence community looks forward to welcoming Coach Teribery to the sidelines and supporting the continued growth of the Girls Volleyball program.
