Independence Local Schools is actively advancing our work with artificial intelligence to better support students and staff. In November, district leaders participated in two powerful learning experiences that directly connect to our Strategic Vision:
Our principals joined districts from across the country to explore current AI practices, challenges, and future planning at the Linking Leaders session with the Schlechty Center. These conversations emphasized the need for thoughtful structures, clear expectations, and ongoing professional learning—key components of Aligning Resources & Knowledge for Collaborative Growth.
Our superintendent and assistant superintendent also met with industry professionals who use AI in their daily work, exploring real-world applications and the skills needed for modern career pathways. Experiences like these support our commitment to Designing Valuable Experiences & Work that prepare learners for a rapidly evolving future.
Together, these opportunities reinforce our dedication to Empowering Whole Child Development by ensuring students and staff are ready to engage confidently, responsibly, and creatively with the technologies shaping tomorrow.
