Independence Local Schools is taking the next step in its long-term facilities planning by partnering with Garmann Miller, a nationally recognized architecture and design firm. The collaboration will include scheduling and programming studies, along with recommendations to guide the district’s future decision-making.

This work directly supports the district’s Strategic Vision, which emphasizes aligning resources and expertise to foster collaborative growth. Modern, well-planned facilities play a key role in that mission by ensuring that learning, teaching, and community spaces continue to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and families.

“This partnership with Garmann Miller represents an important step in our commitment to cultivating a legacy of excellence,” said Superintendent Kelli Cogan. “By thoughtfully assessing our facilities and planning for the future, we are ensuring that our students and staff have updated spaces and infrastructure that support today’s classroom and building needs.”

“Our role is to listen, learn, and collaborate,” added Eric Baltzell, Garmann Miller CEO. “We’re excited to work alongside Independence Local Schools to develop solutions that reflect the district’s vision and values.”

With over 100 team members in locations throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, Garmann Miller is consistently ranked among the nation’s top 50 K-12 architecture firms by Building Design + Construction. Learn more about its work at creategm.com.
