Students from Independence Primary School recently took an educational field trip to the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center to explore careers in the medical field. The highlight of the visit was the popular Sports Medicine and Exercise Science program, where students had the unique opportunity to step into the shoes of physical therapists.

During their visit, the fourth graders learned about the anatomy of the wrist and hand, gaining hands-on experience as they practiced treating a simulated hyperextended wrist injury. Guided by CVCC instructors and current students, the young learners even applied medical tape as part of a mock therapy session. The trip offered an engaging glimpse into the world of sports medicine and sparked curiosity about future career possibilities in healthcare.
