The Independence Local School District is proud to announce the appointment of TJ Ebert as its new Director of Human Resources and Business Operations, effective at the start of the 2025–2026 school year.
Ebert brings over a decade of educational leadership experience to the role, including six years as the principal of Independence Primary School. During his tenure, he has been recognized for fostering a nurturing, student-centered environment and building strong partnerships with families and staff.
“I’m excited to continue serving the Independence community in this new capacity,” said Ebert. “While I will miss the daily connections with students at IPS, I look forward to supporting all schools across the district and helping create the conditions where every student and staff member can thrive.”
Superintendent Kelli Cogan praised Ebert’s leadership and dedication, saying, “TJ’s passion for education and deep understanding of our district make him an outstanding choice for this important position. We are thrilled he will continue to bring his talents to our leadership team.”
As Director of Human Resources and Business Operations, Ebert will oversee key district functions including staff recruitment, personnel development, and operational planning.
The district will begin the search for a new principal of IPS in the coming weeks, with input from staff and families playing a key role in the selection process.
