Two Independence High School Students Recognized as Commended Scholars in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program
Two Independence High School students have been recognized as Commended Scholars in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are Callia Shumay and Matthew Wisnewski.
“Congratulations to Callia and Matthew for this outstanding achievement,” said Principal Mike Janatovich, Independence High School at the October Board of Education meeting. “This is such a solid demonstration of the opportunities that our students have here at Independence High School.”
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
