Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Student Spotlight

Alexander Patterson is a junior at Independence High School and is enrolled in Cuyahoga Valley Career Center's (CVCC) Hotel & Resorts Hospitality program instructed by April Moné. Alexander decided to attend CVCC because he has always been interested in cooking and hospitality services, and knew that CVCC would allow him to learn and apply hands-on skills needed to excel within both of these services. Every day, Alexander wakes up and is excited to go to school because he enjoys seeing his friends and meeting new people.

“From day one, Alexander has been encouraging other students and is always willing to jump in and help whatever the task.” -April Moné, Hotel & Resorts Hospitality Instructor

As of now, Alexander doesn’t have a “dream job,” but he has a goal of becoming a “jack of all trades” within the service business. His advice to future and current students is to remember to have fun. Things may be hard at times, but you got this!

Outside of academics, Alexander enjoys baking desserts, fishing, spending time with his family, and he loves Halloween everything!
