IPS Students Perform "The Jungle Book Kids"

More than 70 Independence Primary School (IPS) students, 23 Independence Middle School students, and dozens of parent and community volunteers came together to produce and perform Disney's "The Jungle Book Kids" the weekend of April 8.
The IPS Drama Program aims to give students in grades 2-4 an opportunity to create and perform a full scale theatrical production with costumes, sound, and lights in front of an audience of over 1,000 people. IPS Principal TJ Ebert even made a guest appearance on stage.
IPS Drama Program Leader Amanda Jaronowski, Director Carolyn Demanelis, and Choreographer Rebecca Justice spent months with the children preparing for this big event, and when the curtain went up, they were ready to shine.
Thank you to our Independence Middle School students who ran the lights, sound, and backstage crew, and the many parents who collaborated to design and create the beautiful set, led by IPS parents Betsy McCormack, Sean Mancini, Mike Rollins and Chris Toth. A beautiful collaborative community effort was put into this production, and it showed!
