CVCC Inducts Four IHS Students into NTHS

Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Inducts Four Independence High School Students into National Technical Honor Society

On Wednesday, April 6, Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC) inducted new members into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). NTHS honors career-technical high school students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service and character.  The four students from Independence High School who were inducted include Vincent Kubicki, junior, Construction Trades; Alexandra Leffler, junior, Dental Assisting; John Burmeister, junior, Electrical Systems; and Andrew Marcinko, junior, Media Arts.

Membership is determined by a student’s scholastic achievement, attendance, deportment, participation in career-technical student organizations and teacher recommendations. Final selections are made by a committee of CVCC staff. Members organize activities that promote school spirit and fundraisers to help social causes. These activities help develop leadership skills, a sense of school unity and community.

“Alex, John, AJ, and Vinny have all worked very diligently,” said Principal Jamie Hogue, Independence High School. “It is a pleasure to see their hard work recognized and rewarded.”
