Independence Middle School Sixth Graders Spread Kindness to Neighbors This Fall
On Thursday, November 11, 80 sixth-grade students, five teachers and 10 parents went out into the community to spread kindness and show some iPride by raking leaves in the community. The team has been partnering with the Civic Center for more than 10 years now, and the event has become something that both seniors and students/teachers look forward to. The group was able to clean up over 15 homes and learn so many life lessons outside the classroom. “As we approach Thanksgiving, we certainly have so much to be grateful for, especially the opportunity to help those in need around us,” said teacher Michelle Koussa.
