James Hogue Hired as Next Principal of IHS
At the June 4 Board of Education meeting, James (Jamie) Hogue was hired as the next principal of Independence High School (IHS). He replaces Bill McGuinness, who is eager for his next opportunity in returning to the classroom as a middle and high school teacher. Jamie begins his position as the new principal on August 1.
Hogue has been principal of Streetsboro High School since 2014. Prior to that, he was the assistant principal. He began his career in education as an English teacher. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS), English Language and Literature/Letters from John Carroll University. He received his Master of Arts in Education from Kent State University. He resides in Twinsburg, with wife, Jennifer, and has three children, Adam, Nolan, and Grace.
“Jamie stood out through our principal search process. We dug deep, talked with current and former employers and even students who have attended the school he has led,” said Superintendent Ben Hegedish, Independence Local Schools. “Jamie is a smart, articulate, and dedicated educational leader. He cares about kids and will be our next champion for our students at IHS.”
“I am very excited to join the team at Independence Local Schools,” said Hogue. “I will give my best to support all students, staff and parents at IHS.”
