Independence Local Schools invites local businesses, organizations, and community members to invest in the future of Blue Devil Athletics through a new community and corporate partnership program, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
In partnership with the Independence Athletic Boosters, the district will now lead sponsorship efforts that support athletic programs and enhance opportunities for the 316 student-athletes who represent Independence High School and Independence Middle School.
For many years, the Independence Athletic Boosters have played a key role in funding projects and experiences that have elevated Blue Devil Athletics. Through this transition, the district aims to build upon that strong foundation while creating additional opportunities for community engagement and support.
"Our athletic programs are an important part of the student experience and our community culture," said Athletic Director Danny Zillich. "We are grateful for the support our sponsors have provided over the years and are excited to expand those partnerships as we continue investing in opportunities that benefit our student-athletes."
Community support has helped fund memorable experiences and facility enhancements, including the boys basketball team and cheerleaders performing and competing at Rocket Arena and the installation of new athletic record boards at Independence High School. These initiatives have provided student-athletes with unique opportunities while celebrating their achievements and contributions.
Looking ahead, the district has identified several projects designed to enhance the athletic experience, including new team benches in the high school gymnasium, improvements to the athletic recognition hallway, the purchase of specialized athletic equipment, and additional facility and program enhancements.
The new partnership program offers multiple sponsorship levels, allowing businesses and community members to support Blue Devil Athletics while receiving recognition for their investment. Sponsorship opportunities are designed to create meaningful partnerships that benefit both student-athletes and the broader Independence community.
"Our goal is to create lasting partnerships that help provide exceptional experiences for our student-athletes while showcasing the pride and support that make Independence such a special place," Zillich said.
Businesses and organizations interested in becoming a Blue Devil Athletics partner can contact Zillich at dzillich@independence.k12.oh.us for additional information.
Through these partnerships, Independence Local Schools hopes to continue building a legacy of excellence and providing opportunities that help student-athletes grow, compete, and succeed both on and off the field.
