The Independence Local Schools transportation department has a total of 14 regular, contracted bus drivers. Our Head Mechanic, Al DiGiandomenico, maintains our buses. Francine Kane, Service Manager, oversees our transportation department.  The goal of the transportation department is to transport your children in the safest, most efficient way possible.

Bus Route Information

If adjustments to times are needed, we will attempt to have all adjustments made within the first 10 days of school.

Please be sure your address is displayed clearly on your mailbox.

Please have your child at the designated bus stop 5 minutes prior to pick up time to avoid missing the bus.

Pick up/ drop off changes: To ensure the safety of your children, no daily bus changes are permitted, or changes that are that are less than 3 days for any reason.

Babysitter, Civic Center, Shared Facility or Temporary changes: Besides the home address, only one other address will be allowed and definite days must be specified and remain consistent. A babysitter form must be completed and signed by the babysitter and returned to the Transportation Department. If your student goes to the Shared Facility After School Care program or Civic Center Before School Care program, a babysitter form must be filled out showing the days attending, and signed by the parent or guardian.
