Assigned days, times and hours; salary/wages as determined by Classified Personnel Negotiated Agreement in effect

Qualifications:

1.    Have a High School diploma or equivalent.

2.    Some previous experience preferred in the preparation and serving of food in a commercial or school cafeteria.

3.    Have the ability and knowledge to operate all available equipment and machines in the food preparation area.

4.    Have the ability to give clear written and oral directions.

5.    Have the ability to assist in the maintenance of a current inventory of all food and cafeteria equipment.

General Description:

Assist in the general operation of the school cafeteria food preparation and carries out other specific duties as assigned by the Head Cook and/or Service Manager, as needed.

Essential Functions:

1.    Preparing of food items.

2.    Adheres to prescribed recipes for food preparation.

3.    Completes essential functions and assists others, as needed, in preparing daily lunches.

4.    Adheres to rigid sanitary standards in the food preparation.

5.    Sanitizes dish room equipment and tables, daily.

6.    Fills and operates dishwasher.

7.    Assists in the kitchen and cafeteria clean-up and maintains a clean and orderly work area.

8.    Assists in shelving food deliveries and taking inventory

9.    Reports needs for supplies and equipment to the Head Cook.

10. Works at banquets as requested by Head Cook or Service Manager.

11. Performs other cafeteria related duties as assigned by the Head Cook or the Service Manager.

Additional Working Conditions:

1.    Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.

2.    Occasional interaction among unruly children.

Bus Driver ~ AM

Initial Assignment:          Transportation

Anticipated Hours:          2 hours per day (approximately 6:00AM-8:00 AM)
Shift:                                   Mornings – Monday thru Friday

Hourly Rate:          $17.63/hr - $24.39/hr depending on experience

*CDL Certified Preferred but we are also willing to train candidates.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be Insurable
  • State of Ohio Commercial Drivers License with School Bus Endorsement
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as Superintendent and/or Board may find appropriate

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Effective, active listening skills
  • Organizational and problem solving skills
  • State Department of Education Basic School Bus Driver Education Program
  • Basic first-aid procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant Ohio laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of traffic laws
  • Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, written warnings and labels
  • Ability to handle emergency situations
  • Ability to interpret gauges, dipsticks for oil and transmission

Preferred Skills:

  • Student supervision
  • Clerical experience
  • Computer use

Intervention Specialist
Credential Required:
Mild to Moderate

Independence Local Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a long-term substitute Intervention Specialist position. The assignment is a position for a Middle School Intervention Specialist, serving grades 5 and 6.

Candidate must possess these skills:

§ Strong collaboration skills

§ Ability to utilize data for educational programming

§ Strong organizational skills

§ Create and adopt curriculum as mandated by the student’s IEP

§ Design, implement and track progress of interventions for academic and behavioral goals

§ Ability to maintain confidentiality of all student information and records

§ Ability to initiate and facilitate communication with parents and team members

Preferred qualifications:

§ Previous work as an Intervention Specialist

§ Wilson certification

§ Experience maintaining accurate classroom records, including grades, attendance, and behavioral records
