Good Morning IHS

Attention Seniors 
Mrs. Stefanski needs a picture of you from elementary school and a senior picture. The picture size can range from a wallet to a 5 by 7. Put your name on the back and if you would like the pictures returned, put return on the back. The pictures are for the bulletin board in front of the guidance office. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Stefanski.

iPride Show
Are you a student who loves singing, playing an instrument, or is wanting to show off a special talent? Well, you’re in luck! Our annual iPride talent show is back!
Auditions for the iPride show will take place on Thursday, April 15th. This is the Thursday we get back from spring break! If you’re interested in auditioning, start practicing now!
More information will be available the week leading up to the audition. If you have any questions please see Mr. Morefield or

The 18th Annual Jog Into Spring will be virtual on Sunday, April 25th.  Please see the flyer in the main lobby if you are interested.  All proceeds benefit the Renee Fontana Roche Memorial which provides scholarships to graduating seniors from Independence High School who move on to pursue a post secondary education in a helping profession.
Registration closes Friday, April 23rd at 9:00 am
The boys basketball team played their final regular season game last night, beating Elyria Catholic, 65-52. They play next Friday, Feb. 26, in the Sectional Finals against either Andrews-Osbourne Academy or Fairport Harbor.

Mr. Durney and the 5th-grade team are looking for 8 IHS students interested in working with 5th graders,  Monday through Thursday from 10:45 - 11:30. The job would be similar to a camp counselor where you & a partner supervise a group of 5th graders and assist with a variety of games.  This would be an easy way to earn service hours!

The Walton Hills Lake Club is Hiring Lifeguards for the 2021 season (June 5th – September 6th). You’ll find flexible hours and competitive pay at our private 13 Acre park in a safe and quiet neighborhood.
Duties include: Lifeguarding, swim lessons and light general maintenance of facility/grounds.
Must have current life guard/first aid certifications by start of season and must be at least 16 years old.
