Independence Local Schools has launched a new program to recognize those individuals who go over and beyond and make a difference in other people's lives. They are extraordinary...unique... talented...and deserve to be recognized. This week's IPride Star of the Week is Mrs. Judy George, a parent in the Independence Local School District. She was nominated by Gretchen Obrovac. Her nomination reads, "One word to describe Judy comes to mind - dependable! I met Judy about 9 years ago when her oldest daughter was in 5th grade. I've had the privilege of teaching all the George girls at the middle and high school during the past 9 years and in that time, Judy has always gone above and beyond with the planning of a concession stand, donating props to the drama clubs, organizing meals or snacks for the students or staff during special events, jumping in with clean up after an event, selling raffle tickets; the list goes on! She continues to offer help and support wherever she can, even if it doesn't directly support one of her daughters! Her practical ideas, dependability and leadership are invaluable to me, personally. Judy is an asset to our school and community, and is deserving of this recognition."
