Independence Local Schools' IPride Star of the Week
Independence Local Schools has launched a new program to recognize those individuals who go over and beyond and make a difference in other people's lives. They are extraordinary...unique... talented...and deserve to be recognized.

Meet our #IPrideStars of the Week! Through the Independence Local Schools Facebook page, we will introduce you to our IPride Stars. They can be students, teachers, staff, alumni, residents, businesses or other community members. We hope these individuals and their stories inspire you and bring a smile to your face. We will chronicle all of our IPride Stars using the hashtag #IPrideStar on Twitter and Facebook so be sure to follow!

This week's IPride Star of the Week is Mr. Karl Schuld, teacher at Independence Middle School. He was nominated by Sherry Westerburg. She states, "Do you have a favorite teacher? One that you'll never forget? A teacher who goes above and beyond with their students? I believe there are many Independence students and alumni who would list Karl Schuld as that teacher. He is kind, caring, honest, and respectful. He is engaged with his students. He asks them how they're doing. He takes the time to really listen to them. He follows up. He has fun with them. He makes them feel special. He has earned their respect. He works hard with them in the classroom, on the golf course and on the basketball court. Karl Schuld is an extraordinary teacher and coach. He deserves to be recognized. Thank you, Mr. Schuld for being such a wonderful example to all of us!"
