Independence High School Once Again Ranked A Top High School in Country
The "Daily Beast," an online news source reaching 17 million readers a
month, has ranked Independence High School as one of the top high
schools in the country. Independence High School ranked 512th in the
country. There were more than 700 schools on this year’s list.
Six indicators are used to rank public high schools in the United States, with graduation and college acceptance rates weighed most heavily. Other criteria include: college-level courses and exams, percentage of students with free or reduced lunch, as well as SAT and ACT scores - another mark of how well a school prepares students for college.
“We thank our hard-working administration, teachers and students for going the extra mile each day to be the very best they can be,” said Superintendent Steve Marlow. “We are fortunate to have such a supportive board of education and community that cares about the education of our youth and supports the strong academics we are able to offer.”
