IMS Students Brighten Children's Holiday

Independence Middle School Builders Club "Operation Christmas Child" Campaign to Brighten Children's Holidays Throughout the World

Independence Middle School Builders Club just wrapped up a two-week collection drive for Operation Christmas Child. On December 6, they filled 56 boxes packed with toys, games, gloves, hygiene materials, books and goodies. The City of Independence's Campus Life partnered with the school to cover the cost of the shipping for each box.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies and then mail them to children ages 2-14 affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine and disease around the world.

"Thank you to the entire Independence Middle School student body for participating and sharing the joy of the season with so many," said Principal Jamie Vanek.
