High School Students Complete Dale Carnegie
Congratulations to the 26 students from Independence High School who graduated on November 18 from The Dale Carnegie Course. The course was held on Monday evenings for the past eight weeks. This is the sixth year for the program and has had 144 participants. Every week, students worked on various exercises and speaking opportunities designed to help them gain confidence and develop better communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. The classes revolve around five core objectives: increasing self-confidence, improvement of people skills, communication skills and leadership skills, and controlling stress and worry.
Participating students included Carolyn Malia Klima, Connor Foster, Christian Streibel, Ethan Manelski, Anthony Londrico, Hugh Corrigan, Daniel Mewhinney, Emily Pace, Wyatt Flynn, Kana Wisniewski, Gregory Adams, Wyatt Balser, Braden Sears, Marisa Silvestro, Anthony D'Ambrosia, Riley Marie Wilson, Katie Taliaferro, Elizabeth Ann Angel, Brooklyn Pillar, Avery Strychasz, Thomas Ceculski II, Elek McDonald, Nicolas Laski, Emily George, Luke Clymer and Vincent Bucci.
Student Graduate Assistants were Emma McGreal and Olivia Michota. Graduate Assistant was Rick Dolejs.
The course is co-sponsored by Independence Local Schools and 25 & Alive via the City of Independence.
