Students and parents are invited to our first ever Advanced Placement Classes Information Night.  It is on Thursday, February 1 in the I.H.S. Library at 6:30 p.m.

A.P. courses represent the highest level of academic rigor that a high school student can take. The most challenging colleges and universities also recognize A.P. courses as the pinnacle of rigor and academic prestige at the high school level.

I.H.S. has built an outstanding A.P. program over the past 15 years, as many of our former A.P. students have earned college credit and saved thousands of dollars in tuition and books. We are always looking for new "recruits" to join the legion of successful A.P. students that we have had at I.H.S.!

I.H.S. offers nine different A.P. courses in a wide variety of subject areas. Please join us on February 1st to learn more about the A.P. program and its tradition of excellence at I.H.S.! Hope to see you there!

In order for your child to participate in CCP they MUST submit an "Intent to Particpate" form by April 1, 2018. It is best practice that parents and students attend a yearly meeting outlining the most current information, procedures and responsibilities associated with CCP.

As a courtesy to IMS/IHS families we provide a meeting on campus at IHS! The meeting here at IHS (Auditorium) will be held for all interested parents and students on Wednesday, February 7 @ 2:45PM to discuss College Credit Plus (CCP) and how to enroll in appropriate coursework. Students may choose to attend any number of universities however, as a courtesy a representative from Cuyahoga Community College will present information at this IHS meeting.
If our date doesn’t work for you, there are a couple other options:
Thursday, February 15th @ 4:30 pm Cuyahoga Heights High School, 4820 East 71st Street, Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio
Wednesday, March 7th @ 6:00 pm Tri-C West, Campus Theatre, 11000 West Pleasant Valley Road, Parma, Ohio
If you have questions that you would like to ask someone at Tri-C directly, you may call (216) 987-5155.

The meeting that your family attends may be at any local/college or university that your child may be interested in attending for CCP. If you plan to attend a meeting directly at the college/university of your choosing, please RSVP directly to the college/university.

Julia is a sophomore at Independence High School. She is one of the most talented artists in our school. She is always quick to help out with any type of art project on the school's behalf. She decorated the commemorative football celebrating Coach Adams' 100 career victory. Julia was also the driving force behind the great signs that were made to support the volleyball team during its State Tournament Final Four run. The strong contribution that she makes to our school spirit through her art is awesome. Additionally, Julia is an outstanding student and has one of the most engaging personalities in our building. I.H.S. is a better place because of Julia. [...click for more]
