Message from the Primary School Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pride I extend a warm welcome to Independence Primary School, a Nationally Recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. At the Primary School, we strive to provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the highest levels of academic achievement and character development for students Pre-K through fourth grade.

Independence Primary School is the educational setting for 402 students. Our school consists of an AM and PM Preschool and kindergarten through fourth grade classrooms. We offer intervention/tutor support services as well as a gifted program. In addition to our core curriculum, students are involved in fine arts, technology, physical education, and guidance activities. As an extension to learning, our site offers an outdoor educational courtyard, three raised planting gardens, and a multi-purpose pavilion.

The caring climate of the Primary School is reflected through our "I-Pride" Character Program and the many philanthropic student activities that take place during the school year. Several charitable organizations were supported during the 2017/18 school year, as students proudly engaged in projects to give back to our community.

Our dedicated staff recognizes the importance of a team approach for differentiated instruction, Response to Intervention (RTI) models, and analyzing student data. This collaboration enables us to meet the individual needs of a spectrum of students at the Primary School.

It is through strong parent and community partnerships that we continue to enrich the lives of our students. We invite you to be a part of our Primary School Family and encourage you to join our I-Pride Parent Volunteer Program and our Parent Teacher Organization. We are looking forward to an exciting school year.

Thank you for your I-Pride support!
