Inspiring Educational Excellence

The Educational Foundation was established to strengthen community participation in our schools and provide financial support for scholarship enrichment, innovative educational programs or creative projects that inspire teachers, students and community members to achieve educational excellence.

PURPOSE
The Independence Educational Foundation (I.E.F.) is a community-based organization designed to develop and provide a permanent source of supplemental funding for enhancing the quality of education within the Independence community. The funding will provide a mechanism through which resources can be allocated for worthwhile educational activities including general enrichment programs, fine and performing arts, academic excellence and more.

FUND DISTRIBUTION CATEGORIES
Donations, which are tax-deductible, may be made to any of the three categories or to a specific scholarship of your choice:
  • Student Scholarships
  • Grants for Education and Innovation
  • General Educational Foundation
Grants from the Endowment Fund can expose not only students, but community members as well, to a vast knowledge of education that might not otherwise be available.

CONTRIBUTIONS
Contributions to the Educational Fund will be invested! This practice results in a growing foundation as contributions accumulate year after year! Contributions to the Educational Fund may be made in several ways, the most most common being an outright gift. Although this may not be suitable for everyone, many choose to make donations in other ways as listed:

Outright Gift - Cash or long-term appreciated securities or real property.
Honorary Gift - Funds and bequests to honor a relative, friend or educator.
Deferred Gift - Gift annuities, life insurance, bequests, charitable trusts or property.
Incremental Gifts - Gifts made in planned stages over a specific period of time or pledges.

PRIMARY FUNDING AREAS
The Independence Educational Foundation only supports areas of education that are not typically funded by a school's operating budget
.
