SENIORS: It is time to start thinking about Graduation! On Friday, November 1st starting at 7 AM in Mrs. Stefanski's room (room 208), Seniors will be measured for Caps and Gowns. Please bring a check for $25 payable to Independence High School or $25 cash. You will also be voting for your class colors, flower, quote and song at this time.
Seniors: this is a reminder that Life Touch will be here to take senior pictures this Thursday, October 17th. You must schedule a time with Mrs. Panteck if want to be photographed at school for the yearbook. If you already scheduled a time, please be make sure you come to the auditorium on time. This is only for seniors who are not going to the studio.

Calling all pet lovers! The IHS Key Club is currently hosting a Pet food and toy drive. All donations will benefit the local chapter of Neighborhood pets as well as the APL. Acceptable items include, pet food, dog and cat toys, leashes, peanut butter, spray cheese etc. Each item donated will get you put in a raffle to win prizes. The prizes will be given out when we reach certain checkpoints. The prizes are: At 250 lbs, someone will receive two tickets to the Heights football game. At 500 lbs, there will be 5 names picked to receive gift cards. At 750lbs, a winner will receive a pizza lunch for him/her and up to five friends! At 1000lbs, one winner will get a chance to pie a teacher. For every 100 lbs that we go over the goal another teacher will be pied by a student! The teacher names will be revealed when the donations reach 250lbs! Additionally anyone who donates will be given a link to a google form where they can upload a picture of their pet which will be put into a collage and displayed around the school.

Campus Life is taking a trip to Cedar Point on Saturday, October 26. Please meet at Elmwood Rec @ 1:00pm, and expect to return @ 11:00pm. Price is $50. Dinner is included. Please RSVP to 330-241-7794 by this Friday, October 18, as space is limited.
Expeditions announces an October event: Next Thursday evening, October 24, we will travel to Weathervane Playhouse in Akron to watch a production of Agatha Christie's murder mystery "And Then There Were None." Tickets are $11.00. The deadline to register is this Thursday, October 17. See Mr. Magyari for details.
The I-X Trick or Treat Street is looking for volunteers 16 and older to pass out candy to children at their 12 Halloween themed candy stations. The event is October 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th. If you have any questions, please contact Katie Seeley at email@example.com or call 216-265-2580
Student volunteers are needed on October 23rd from 6-8pm at the IMS gym. They will be needed to watch children during a bond issue presentation. If you are interested, contact Mr. McGuinness.

Attention baseball players: A brief meeting will be held this coming Thursday, October 17th in the Media Center for all those interested in playing baseball this spring. The meeting will begin promptly at 2:45 p.m. and be will be completed no later than 3 p.m.
Swimming conditional starts Monday the 21st and regular season starts the 25th.
